Biography, Ami Chen Mills Naim
Ami Chen Mills-Naim
is an ordinary mother and housewife, with an ordinary life and life issues. She is also a spiritual author, poet and former award-winning investigative journalist. She is the author of The Spark Inside: A Special Book for Youth and a blogger at www.mysticalmama.com. For the last two decades, Ami has been a student of and then leader in the “Three Principles” movement, teaching and sharing an understanding of Sydney Banks’ “Three Principles” of Mind, Consciousness and Thought through the non-profit Center for Sustainable Change, co-founded with her father, the late Dr. Roger Mills. For the last four years, she has directed the National Community Resiliency Project, funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, which brings a spiritual understanding of Thought and human nature to youth at risk and inner city communities, as well as “regular” communities worldwide.
Until recently, she served as co-host of the radio show and podcast, “A New Way to Handle Absolutely Everything,” with Elese Coit.
In her 20’s, Ami overcame depression and anxiety through a series of spiritual insights. Researching and writing an in-depth article on depression marked the end of her career as a journalist, as she became inspired to help others regain their birthright of mental health, peace of mind and clarity. Ami is a frequent and international lecturer on the topic of the Principles and spirituality in general. Her studies of more than 30 years include the work of Sydney Banks, Joel Goldsmith, Gangaji, Adyashanti, Byron Katie, Toni Packer, Ramana Maharishi, Nisargadatta Maharaj, and Hugh and Gayle Prather, among others. She has also been a student of A Course in Miracles, the Bible, the Tao Te Ching and the Hua Hu Ching, as well as texts of Jewish mysticism.
She finds, simply, that the truth is everywhere. Inside of books, outside of books. In nature, in cities, and at home. In increasing numbers of teachers and “ordinary people” worldwide. And, most importantly, in you.
Ami offers spiritual coaching and counseling to individuals, families and groups on a limited basis, and is available for speaking engagements. Please contact her at info@amichen.com with inquiries.
